Cole; sister, Iris Ebsen of Little Rock, Arkensas; brothers, Dale Shook of Little Rock, Arkanasas and Jerry Shook of Panama Metropolis, Florida; and Half-sisters, Debbie Borkowski of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Connie Alessi of Claremore, Oklamhoma and Janet Chapman of Angola, New York.

Barbara Jean Jones Whitaker, age 76, of White Home, handed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 on the house of her daughter in Portland.

Funeral providers had been held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2pm within the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Dwelling in Springfield with Brother Brent Johnson officiating. Burial adopted within the First Normal Baptist Church Cemetery in Russellville with Leslie Canter III, Leslie Canter IV, Brody Walker, Joshua Kelly, Jacob Sureda, Jeremy Pilkerton and Austin Pilkerton serving as pallbearers. Dillon Walker served as an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation was held on the funeral house on Wednesday from 10am till the hour of service at 2pm.

Mrs. Whitaker was born August 29, 1943 in Ridgetop to the late Lois Ray and Gladys Lee Dorris Jones. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary Normal Baptist Church.

Along with her mother and father Mrs. Whitaker is preceded in demise by her husband, James Albert Whitaker and her brother, Carl Ray Jones.

Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her daughters, Wanda W. Canter and husband Leslie of Goodlettsville, Cynthia Ann Tucker of White Home, and Michelle Leah Kelly and husband Richard of Portland; brothers, Wayne Jones of White Home and Richard Jones of floral squareSpringfield; sisters, Shirley Minnis of Springfield and Patricia Hysner of White Home; grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Jeremy) Pilkerton, Leslie (Lacey) Canter, Amanda Tucker, Brody (Samantha) Walker, Dillon (Carrie) Walker, Maggie Kelly and Joshua Kelly; and eight great-grandchildren.
