Joe C. Mason, age 91 of Springfield, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 on the Waters of Robertson.

Graveside companies had been performed Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville, KY with Rev. Steve Pendley officiating. Pallbearers had been Jeff Barbee, Kenneth Bracey, John Mason Barnes, Sam Borthick, Lee Borthick, Tony Ryan, Albert Fuqua, Leighton Ball, and Jeff Mason. There was no visitation previous to the graveside service.

Mr. Mason was born February 15, 1928 in Robertson County to the late, G.C. and Grace Armstrong Mason. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Military. He was a retired farmer and farm gear supplier. He loved ingesting espresso with mates and visiting with them. Along with his mother and father, he was preceded in dying by his spouse, Helen Marie Sharp Mason; brother, Jimmy Mason; and sisters, Sylvia Borthick and Mary Ruth Mason.

Charles Man Penny, III, of Springfield, TN, previously of Shreveport, LA, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Charles was born February 12, 1936, in Steele, MO, and grew up in Memphis. He attended Harding in Searcy, AR, and Centenary Faculty in Shreveport, LA, and served within the Navy from 1956-1960. Married to Carolyn Hutt Penny in 1957, the couple settled in Shreveport and raised their two youngsters. Charles was blessed to have a profession he liked, flying King Air 200 and Falcon 50 jets all through the US, Mexico, and Canada. He was a pilot for Murco Oil & Fuel, Western Firm, and golfer, Hal Sutton. His favourite vacation spot was Missoula, Montana, the place he liked to hunt elk.

After retirement, Charles and Carolyn lived in Carolyn’s hometown of Fouke, AR, then relocated to Nice View, Tennessee, to be close to grandchildren. As Charles’ well being declined, he turned a resident of Springfield Heights Assisted Dwelling, the place he spent 6 years along with his “Springfield Heights” household.
