He cherished gardening, animals and spending time together with his household, particularly the grandchildren.

He’s survived by his son, David McCarter, White Home, TN; daughter, Sharon (Dale) Martin, Macon, GA; brother, Jack (Audrey) McCarter, Mount Juliet, TN; sister, Dixie Morgan, Greenbrier, TN; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11am within the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral House in White Home with Pastor Clay Baggett officiating. Interment adopted in White Home Memorial Gardens with household and pals serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held Monday, August 30, 2021 4-8pm and Tuesday, August 31, 2021 10-11am on the funeral house.

Helen L. Smith Woodard was born on February 14, 1932, in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee to the late Clyde Willie Smith and Emma Could Darden Smith. On Friday, August 20, 2021,

Viewing, Visitation and Funeral Service was Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Washington, Eulogy and Pastor Quinton Yates, Sr. Officiant; Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Backyard.
