Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Practice In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn Information) –Officers in Springfield are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a practice Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred round 2:45 PM. Officers centered their efforts on the seventeenth Ave. and West Hillcrest railroad crossing. West Hillcrest was closed for a number of hours following the accident.
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters, together with Robertson County EMS, and the Robertson County Emergency Administration Company, discovered a deceased male on the railroad tracks 1/3-mile southeast of the West Hillcrest Drive at Industrial Drive railroad crossing.
Officers have recognized the deceased male struck by the practice as 48-year-old Steven G. Traughber.
